Life can ask a lot of us at once.

When you're carrying emotional pain, stress, grief, uncertainty, or simply trying to hold everything together, doing less is not failure. It is self-compassion.

Be gentle with yourself today.

Dear Man,

You are allowed to have difficult days.

You are allowed to feel tired, overwhelmed, uncertain, or afraid.

You do not have to carry every burden in silence or pretend that everything is okay when it isn't.

Being human means experiencing emotions, facing challenges, and sometimes needing support.

This Men's Mental Health Month, we encourage every man to speak up, reach out, and remember that seeking help is not a sign of weakness. It is a sign of courage.

And to everyone else: check in on the men in your life. A simple conversation can make a meaningful difference.

💬 What is one thing you wish more people understood about men's mental health?

💙 WHAT MEN WISH PEOPLE UNDERSTOOD ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH

Many men are carrying burdens they rarely talk about.

The pressure to provide.
The expectation to always be strong.
The fear of being judged for showing vulnerability.

Mental health challenges do not discriminate. They affect men of all ages, backgrounds, and professions. Yet too many continue to suffer in silence because they believe they must handle everything on their own.

This Men's Mental Health Month, let's create spaces where men feel safe to speak, seek support, and be heard without judgment.

Take a moment today to check in with a father, brother, husband, son, friend, colleague, or neighbor. A simple conversation can make a meaningful difference.

🚹 JUNE IS MEN'S MENTAL HEALTH MONTH

Behind many strong faces are silent struggles, unspoken worries, and emotional battles that often go unnoticed.

This month, we remind every man and boy that mental health matters. Strength is not about carrying every burden alone. Strength is knowing when to speak, seek support, and connect with others.

Let's challenge harmful stereotypes, encourage open conversations, and create safe spaces where men can talk about their mental wellbeing without fear of judgment.

📌 Check in on a brother.
📌 Listen without judgment.
📌 Encourage help-seeking.
📌 Remind men that their feelings matter.

Because real strength includes asking for help when you need it.

We successfully hosted the "Mental Health in the Money Economy Symposium" at Imperial Royal Hotel, Kampala, bringing together leaders from government, the private sector, financial institutions, mental health professionals, entrepreneurs, development partners, and the media for an important national conversation on the intersection between mental wellbeing and economic transformation.

Held under the theme:
“Unlocking Productivity and Economic Transformation through Workplace Wellbeing,”
the symposium highlighted a powerful reality: Uganda’s economic ambitions cannot be achieved without investing in the mental wellbeing of its people.

Discussions explored the growing pressures faced by MSMEs, the impact of stress and burnout on productivity, the role of workplace wellbeing in building resilient businesses, and the urgent need to integrate mental health into economic and private sector development conversations. The dialogue also emphasized that mental health is not only a health issue, but a strategic economic investment essential for innovation, human capital development, and sustainable national growth.

We extend our sincere appreciation to for setting a strong example as a private sector institution championing workplace wellbeing and supporting conversations that place people at the center of economic progress. Your partnership reflects the important role businesses can play in shaping healthier and more productive communities.

We also thank the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives for the leadership and commitment demonstrated in recognizing mental health as a critical component of Uganda’s economic transformation agenda and MSME growth.

To all speakers, panelists, participants, media partners, and stakeholders who contributed to the success of this symposium, thank you for being part of a movement that is helping redefine mental health as economic power.

The conversation continues.

🌙 Eid-al-Adha is a reminder of compassion, sacrifice, gratitude, and the importance of caring for one another. As we celebrate this blessed occasion, may we also take time to nurture our mental well-being and support those around us with kindness and understanding.

Today, In Gulu , Bomah Hotel -we join hands to advance a Media Safety Initiative in Northern Uganda aimed at strengthening the wellbeing and resilience of journalists working in high-risk and demanding environments. The 2 day training brings together journalists from Soroti, Gulu, Yumbe, Arua, Karamoja, Kitgum, and Mbale to reflect on the growing importance of mental health within the media profession. Journalists continue to face exposure to trauma, conflict, stress, and emotional pressure in the course of their work, making mental health support an urgent priority. This initiative, funded by the European Union through DW Akademie and supported by Mental Health Uganda, seeks to promote psychosocial wellbeing, safety, and resilience among media practitioners while strengthening conversations around mental health in the journalism sector.
