1. Holistic Poverty Eradication: Acknowledge that poverty extends beyond physical deprivation and commit to addressing its multifaceted dimensions, including mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. Goal: Initiate a microenterprise project in several local communities, aiming to economically empower 1000 individuals by 2029.
2. Consciousness-raising Initiatives: Foster awareness and understanding of global poverty issues by developing and implementing educational campaigns that promote empathy, mindfulness, and a sense of shared responsibility. Goal: Conduct awareness campaigns in two districts, reaching 500 people, and measure the increase in awareness through post-campaign surveys by 2028.
3. Empowerment through Education: Facilitate access to quality education for marginalised communities, aiming to empower individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to break the cycle of poverty. Goal: Provide 4 educational sessions every year in several communities targeting vocational education and skills.
4. Inclusive Economic Development: Promote inclusive economic growth by supporting entrepreneurship, job creation, and vocational training in underserved regions, fostering self-sufficiency and resilience. Goal: Create 100 new job opportunities through a small-scale vocational training program, measured by job placement rates by 2029.
5. Health and Well-being: Improve the overall health and well-being of impoverished communities by providing access to essential healthcare services, clean water, and nutrition programs. Promotion of preventative healthcare in affective communities including primary health with targeting of substance use minimisation. Goal: Provide basic healthcare access to 200 individuals in a specific area, measured by the number of health check-ups and/or hospital admissions administered by 2029.
6. Women's Empowerment: Prioritise initiatives that empower women economically, socially, and politically, recognizing the pivotal role they play in breaking the cycle of poverty within communities. Goal: Initiate a women’s empowerment initiative with at least 10-15 members, providing training and resources for small-scale entrepreneurial ventures by 2028.
7. Environmental Sustainability: Integrate sustainable practices into poverty alleviation efforts, promoting environmentally friendly solutions that address both poverty and climate change. Goal: Plant 10 000 trees in communities across Uganda by the end of 2029.
8. Community Engagement and Participation: Foster community-driven development by involving local communities in the design and implementation of projects, ensuring cultural sensitivity and long-term effectiveness. Goal: Facilitate community-led projects in 20 villages, measured by the number of community members actively involved in decision-making processes by 2029.
9. Partnerships and Collaboration: Collaborate with international organisations, governments, non-profits, and private sector entities to leverage resources, share expertise, and create synergistic solutions for more impactful poverty-fighting initiatives. Goal: Establish partnerships with 4 local Non Government Organsations, measured by joint project initiation and collaboration by 2028.
10. Advocacy for Policy Change: Advocate for policy changes at local, national, and international levels to create an enabling environment for poverty reduction, social justice, and sustainable development. Goal: Advocate for a local policy change related to poverty alleviation, measured by the successful implementation of the proposed policy.
11. Monitoring and Evaluation: Establish robust monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to measure the impact of programs, ensuring transparency and accountability in the allocation of resources and the achievement of goals. Goal: Establish a robust monitoring and evaluation (M&E) system for a primary poverty alleviation project in Uganda. By 2029, aim to achieve a 95% accuracy rate in tracking project milestones, assessing the impact on the target community.
12. Technology for Development: Harness the power of technology to create innovative solutions that can accelerate poverty reduction, enhance education, and improve healthcare delivery in impoverished regions. Goal: Introduce basic technology training in 3 communities in Kampala, measured by increased access to digital resources.
13. Protection of Vulnerable Populations: Prioritise the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals and groups, including children, disabled, the elderly, and those facing discrimination or violence. Implement programs and policies that safeguard their rights. Goal: Implement a safety and awareness program for vulnerable individuals in 6 communities, measured by a reduction in street begging by 2028.
14.Empowering Men for Equitable Development: Acknowledge the unique challenges faced by men in impoverished communities and develop targeted initiatives that address their specific needs. Provide opportunities for education, skills training, and emotional well-being support, recognizing the pivotal role men play in family and community dynamics. Goal: Engage men in a small-scale educational program, measured by increased participation in community development by 2028.
15.Sustainable Village Development: Prioritise the creation of sustainable villages that not only address immediate needs but also lay the foundation for long-term prosperity. Implement comprehensive development plans that include eco-friendly infrastructure, renewable energy sources, and sustainable agricultural practices. Goal: Initiate a sustainable village development project in a targeted community in Uganda by 2026.
16. Equitable Global Wealth Redistribution: Advocate for policies and initiatives that promote a more equitable distribution of global wealth. Recognize the interconnectedness of economies and work towards fostering a system that reduces disparities between affluent and impoverished regions. Encourage fair trade practices, responsible investment, and international cooperation to ensure that the benefits of economic growth are shared more inclusively, contributing to a more just and balanced global economic landscape. Goal: Advocate for increased local investment in poverty alleviation in Uganda and internationally.
17.Acute Response to Disasters: Establish rapid-response mechanisms to provide immediate assistance in the aftermath of disasters, including natural calamities and humanitarian crises. Develop emergency relief programs that swiftly deliver essential supplies, medical aid, and temporary shelter to affected communities. Collaborate with local and international partners to ensure a coordinated and efficient response, addressing the urgent needs of those impacted by disasters while laying the groundwork for long-term recovery and resilience-building efforts. Goal: Establish 2 rapid-response teams, each with at least 10-15 persons and provide emergency relief in case of a local disaster, measured by the effectiveness and timeliness of the response by 2028.
18. Interfaith Collaboration: Embrace an interfaith approach, bringing together diverse religious communities to collaborate on poverty alleviation initiatives. Foster understanding, tolerance, and shared values among different faiths, leveraging their collective resources and networks for a more comprehensive impact. Encourage joint efforts in addressing social and economic challenges, ensuring that the foundation's programs are inclusive, culturally sensitive, and respectful of diverse belief systems. Goal: Initiate interfaith dialogues in 5 communities, measured by the successful collaboration on a small-scale project by 2027.
19. Combating Corruption for Sustainable Development: Take a firm stance against corruption as a barrier to poverty alleviation and sustainable development. Implement strategies to promote transparency, accountability, and ethical practices in all aspects of our initiatives. Advocate for anti-corruption measures at local, national, and international levels, aiming to create an environment where resources are utilised efficiently, and the benefits of development reach those who need them the most. Goal: Raise awareness about corruption and its impact on poverty, measured by community participation in anti-corruption initiatives by 2028.
20. Empowering Communities for the 21st Century: Commit to bridging the digital and developmental divide by implementing initiatives that bring all communities into 21st century standards. Provide access to technology, digital literacy programs, and opportunities for skill development to ensure that no community is left behind in the rapidly advancing global landscape. Goal: Provide basic technology access to 100 individuals in 4 communities, measured by increased digital literacy by 2028.
21. Activating Dreams and Passions: Recognize the inherent potential within every individual and community by fostering an environment that encourages the pursuit of dreams and passions. Develop programs that inspire creativity, entrepreneurship, and personal growth, empowering people to identify and pursue their unique aspirations. Goal: Facilitate workshops to identify and support individual aspirations for 200 people, measured by the pursuit of identified dreams and passions by 2029.
22. Sustainable Agriculture for Food Security: Prioritise the development of sustainable agriculture practices to enhance food security and economic resilience in impoverished communities. Implement initiatives that provide farmers with access to modern farming techniques, resources, and markets, ensuring the production of nutritious crops while safeguarding the environment. Goal: Introduce sustainable farming practices in one village, measured by improved crop yields and environmental sustainability by the 2029.
23. Individual and Village Sponsorship Programs: Establish targeted sponsorship initiatives to directly support individuals and entire villages in need. Through these programs, provide financial assistance, educational resources, and access to healthcare to empower individuals and communities on a personal level. Goal: Work with local villages and aim to initiate sponsorship for education and basic needs for 20 individuals and support a small-scale community project per participating village by 2024.
