Today, ActionAid International Uganda had the privilege of hosting Sarah May Hénon, Senior Program Manager at ActionAid Denmark, for a strategic engagement aimed at reviewing the restart of the SPA II Programme.

Our discussions focused on our renewed commitments and strategic partnership framework for greater program impact.

We also held a strategic meeting with the leadership of Participatory Ecological Land Use Management (PELUM) Uganda, led by the country coordinator Mrs Josephine Akia Luyimbazi. We had a constructive discussion about our ongoing partnership and new areas of collaboration on renewable energy interventions, Agroecology and alliance building in climate justice.

In a joint effort to strengthen service delivery, ActionAid International Uganda, through the CLEAR Project, partnered with the Gulu District Local Government Health Department to conduct health monitoring and support supervision across 16 health facilities. This assessment aimed to evaluate the state of service delivery, establish key milestones achieved, and identify existing gaps affecting the quality of healthcare services.

This week we are participating in the Land Camp in Logiri, Arua under the theme, Secured Land Rights for All.

The camp responds to rampant land conflicts, insecure tenure, weak capacity of Area Land Committees, and persistent gaps in access to land justice in the West Nile Subregion

Ahead of our upcoming documentation of a promotional video against child marriage, our team, together with colleagues from ActionAid Italy, paid a courtesy visit to the Namutumba District leadership.

We deeply value these partnerships with community stakeholders, as they are key in advancing our shared mission of ending child marriage and promoting the rights of girls.

We had the honor of hosting the Country Manager of ActionAid South Africa, Sakhile Zungu, at our country office.

During his courtesy visit, he spent valuable time with our staff, sharing lessons from ActionAid’s work in South Africa and offering rich insights on a wide range of topics. Our team also engaged him with thoughtful questions, making it a truly interactive and worthwhile session.

Through the Citizens Led Efforts for Anti-Corruption Efforts, we held review & reflection meetings with accountability champions in West Nile.

We assessed achievements, reflected on wins & challenges, shared experiences, learned from peers, and strengthened strategies to engage communities & duty bearers.

Recently, ActionAid Uganda , with funding from & in collaboration with Nakapiripirit & Amudat DHTs, held 7 health outreaches reaching 682 people with SRHR education. In addition, 218 screened for STIs, 77 for cervical cancer & 63 women (22 teens) received antenatal care.
