In order to create work and income in Uganda, BISS Bakeries was started in Uganda in 2013. In a Simple and Smart way, we train how to run a business in baking without electricity and running water. Simple in equipment, Smart in cost calculation and production. The independency of electricity and tap water makes BISS Bakeries suitable anywhere in Uganda, where there is a reasonable concentration of
costumers. Entrepreneurship

1. The training is besides baking, focussed on running a simple business in a smart way. We give guidelines in sales which participants practice in the training. We expand this training during the follow up visits at the BISS Bakeries’ locations.
2. To have a controlled bakery business, however small it is, you need proper equipment. The BISS equipment loans are composed for Bakeries to be able to produce local products as mandazi, chapatti and samosa’s, in such a way that they can control yield, costs and quality. Supplying equipment loans creates an extra positive influence on the success of the BISS Bakeries. BISS is initiated by Bake for Life Holland. Bake for Life is an Dutch NGO that is active in Uganda since 2000 by creating large scale bakeries and the Bake for Life College Tororo. BISS is the third project and an independent entity in Uganda.
