HIV/AIDS and alcohol use are linked in Uganda. Drinking can increase HIV risk through:
- *Risky s*x*: Impaired judgment leads to unprotected s*x.
- *Poor health choices*: Neglecting HIV care or medication.
Key points:
- Alcohol use is common in Uganda (26% men, 5% women drink).
- HIV prevalence is higher among drinkers (6.7%) vs. non-drinkers (4.2%).
- Drinking can worsen HIV outcomes.
KABAKA BIRTHDAY Run is an opportunity for us to raise awareness and educate on risks; Integrate into HIV care, and end alcohol use to prevent HIV/AIDS
