Eagles Youth Development Initiative (EYDI) is a community-based organization in Uganda, established in 2002, focusing on empowering children, adolescents, and women. Their mission is to contribute to HIV prevention, restore hope, and empower young people, aiming for zero new infections and access to decent social and health services.
Key Areas of Focus:
1. Education: Improving access to education and promoting literacy
2. Health: Preventing violence against children and women, addressing HIV/AIDS, and promoting reproductive health
3. Economic Empowerment: Providing vocational training and entrepreneurship skills
4. Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH): Enhancing access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene facilities
EYDI has implemented projects like the Period Pride for Ugandan Girls and Mothers, providing menstrual health education, reusable sanitary pads, and facilities to improve girls' well-being. They've also partnered with organizations like Anike Foundation & NASF to support these initiatives.
