Implementing a project: Contributing to Creating a Safe and Preventive Environment for Displaced Populations in Uganda and Finding Durable Solutions.
Introduction:
The SCRSDO Organization held a brainstorming meeting at its office in Bombo, Luweero District, regarding the ICLA project. The meeting was attended by community leaders, prominent figures from the Ugandan community, Sudanese refugee leaders, and local government officials.
The meeting was well-organized, and representatives from the following organizations: NRC, Low Society, and SCRSDO (the organizing body) provided valuable information about the project and the awareness initiatives being conducted by these organizations as part of the aforementioned project.
Additionally, the National Security Officer for the area enriched the discussion with vital points and important recommendations, confirming their readiness to cooperate with the organizations to facilitate procedures, enforce security in the region, ensure the safety of refugees and their property, and expedite the required documentation processes for them.
The meeting proceeded smoothly, prioritizing issues identified by community leaders and refugees while discussing minor challenges they face in the area. They called for intensified efforts and the establishment of awareness workshops and training, especially in educational and legal fields. This meeting will significantly contribute to effective communication with community leaders, refugee leaders, and government officials in implementing the strategic plan for the ICLA project.
