It was initiated basically to empower young generations to being the architects and builders of peace and unity of the future generations to come. Waggala Isaac was the first vision bearer of Youth for Peace Uganda. Its formation was inspired from the increasing number of strikes in Uganda as well as the July 2010 su***de bombing attack in which the youth actively took part and the existence of
United Nations Association movements in High schools (Old Kampala s.s.). After working with other youth groups such as Boys and Girls Brigade and carrying out charitable activities, I was empowered to come up with the idea of starting the organization Youth For Peace Uganda. Later on other enthusiastic and highly-motivated members joined the crew: Balikuddembe Perez,Kuteesa Nicholas, Wanyama Edward and Bawalenzo Brain. The organization mainly aims at building up/strenghtening a culture of hope, peace, trust and unity among the Ugandan Youth, first from an individual perspective to be later transmitted to the communities on a large scale.
