Bright Doves of St. Francis The Bright Doves of St. Francis is a faith based Ugandan Youth group based in Kamwokya – Kampala inspired by the spirituality of St. Francis.

Francis is a faith-based Ugandan Youth and Children organization established in 2006 and based in Kamwokya – Kampala. It is a registered Community Based Organization (CBO) under Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) and works through the Youfra (Young Franciscans) network to reinforce cultural values which
emphasize freedom, democracy and non-violence by propagating peace and helping the young discover and utilize their potential.

Eight centuries after Saint Francis composed the Canticle of Creature, its verses praising the different dimensions of the nature he saw around him continue to resonate – including with those of us committed to protect human rights and the environment. To mark the Canticle’s anniversary, the members of our International Board of Directors, reflect on how Francis’ words, put down 800 years ago, inspire their work.

Brother Vicente Imhof, a Conventual friar, works with the Kawsay Network in South America. Among other things, the initiative offers workshops to survivors of human trafficking and sexual violence. On , he describes how a small spring in the Peruvian mountains becomes a source of reflection and healing.
