UASCRF was founded in 2005 in San Antonio, Texas. Later USCRF was founded in 2013 in Uganda to fight Sickle Anemia.

The Uganda -American Sickle Cell Rescue Fund (UASCRF), was founded in 2005 by Mulumba family to increase sickle cell awareness and improve ways of those living with sickle cell in Uganda and globally. It was founded after the birth of the couple’s daughter born and battled sickle cell disease.
