T.G.C.A.F.U is a behavior change campaign to improve and help create awareness on the sexual and reproductive health of young people,teenage pregnancies, drug abuse, child marriage, cross generation relationships, HIV/AIDS ,and stop the abuse of persons with disability in the rural areas of West Nile and Northern regions of Uganda as a case study since they were most affected by the LRA war.We als
o contribute to the preservation of the Environment. Our Vision is dedicated to seeing a society where all girl child in the most vulnerable areas of Uganda, children with disability. those in refugee camps, adolescents, and in whatever condition all over Africa shakl enjoy equal rights and freedom to pursue their dreams and achieve them. We contribute to this by partnering with other local organisations to reach out to our beneficicuaries through awareness, motivation and education to change their attitude towards reaching out to fulfilling their dreams. The above regions for the past 40 years been a home to South Sudanese refugees and other refugees from other countries. The refugees now. many of whom were born during the conflict have made their second journey to Uganda especially before and after signing the Comprehensive Peace Agreement. They have now become part of us and the foundation looks on fulfilling their issues too. The West Nile and Northern regions of Uganda are still recovering from 20years of conflict involving from the Lords Resistance Army. Since the end of the war in 2006, there has been a positive progress towards peace and stability, but recovering from the legacy of conflict has many challenges. With high levels of poverty in these two regions, the girl child is put at the highest risk of danger. So many parents are still doomed with ancient beliefs that the girl child is meant for domestic work. Who knows if well groomed and well educated she could be somewhere a great personality or even the next President?? The Girl Child Awake Foundation has aims and Objectives. Among which include;1 To contribute to National Dev't 2. To increase the moral and uplift the attitude of the girl child towards achieving their dreams by motivating and inspiring them.3. Fight for freedoms and rights of persons with disability 4. To eradicate early early pregnancies, sexually transmitted diseases, school drop out, and others. 5. To blossom a type of an independent and dev'tal generation of womanhood 6. To eradicate the element of environmental degradation.
