The World AIDS Day event was proudly held at Lira University, specifically at the University Center, a location chosen so that everyone—students, staff, and community members—could easily come and access all the activities. The day brought together several dedicated partners who worked hand in hand to promote health, awareness, and community empowerment.

Human Diagnosis, in partnership with OraQuick, provided HIV testing services, offering quick, reliable, and confidential tests to help people know their status. Their teamwork created a supportive environment where participants felt comfortable, informed, and encouraged to take charge of their health.

Girls Lifeline, represented through peer educator Naira, engaged young people in peer-education and awareness sessions. These conversations focused on HIV prevention, sexual health, and making informed life decisions. Their involvement ensured that young voices and youth concerns were at the center of the event.

Maisha Meds contributed greatly through their iVision services, providing thorough eye check-ups and distributing corrective glasses to those who needed them. Their efforts helped improve vision and overall well-being, showing the importance of accessible eye care in our communities.

The Red Cross delivered a practical and eye-opening demonstration on how to help people involved in road accidents. They showed essential first-aid skills and emergency response techniques, empowering participants with knowledge that can save lives in critical moments.

The event also featured Blood Donation services, giving individuals the chance to donate blood and support hospitals and patients in need. This act of generosity aligned perfectly with the spirit of World AIDS Day—saving lives and supporting one another.

Overall, the World AIDS Day at Lira University was a huge success. The activities ran smoothly, the turnout was impressive, and everyone worked together with passion and commitment. The day truly reflected unity, awareness, and the shared responsibility of building a healthier, more informed community.

Together, we will continue to uplift, empower, and make the world a better place for all.

Today, we celebrate strength, resilience, and the incredible beauty of human diversity.
To everyone living with a disability or with special needs: you are seen, valued, and deeply appreciated.

Your courage lights the way.
Your determination transforms challenges into possibilities.
Your presence enriches our communities with wisdom, creativity, and hope.

You remind the world that ability comes in many forms,
and that every person carries a unique gift that deserves respect, dignity, and opportunity.

May today shine a light on your achievements, your dreams, and your limitless potential.
May society continue to grow more inclusive, more accessible, and more compassionate—
not out of charity, but out of recognition of the equal worth you bring to the world.

you are important,
you are extraordinary—
and today, we honor you.

Today we celebrate World AIDS Day — a powerful moment dedicated to awareness, solidarity, and hope. It’s an amazing event, and this year it’s happening in Lira University bringing the community together to shine a light on education, prevention, and support for those living with HIV.

World AIDS Day reminds us of how far we’ve come, but also of the work still ahead. It’s a day to honor the lives affected, to stand against stigma, and to promote access to healthcare and information for everyone.

HIV continues to affect many young people, and mother-to-child transmission remains one of the greatest challenges for our communities. But together, we can protect our families, support our young people, and give every child a healthier future.

As we head to Lira, we call upon every mother, every young woman, and every member of our community:
Come, learn, and take part in this life-changing experience.
Come and receive the awareness that can save lives.

At our Free Medical Camp, you will have access to:
• Family planning services
• Cervical cancer screening
• Eye check-ups
• Malaria testing and treatment
• HIV education, testing, and mother-to-child transmission prevention support

Let us work together to safeguard our new generation—our children, especially those born with HIV. With proper care, treatment, and community support, they can live strong, healthy, and fulfilling lives.

As we celebrate World AIDS Day and honor the people who have lived courageously with HIV, we stand united.
In Lira, we welcome everyone. We do not discriminate. As long as you are human, the world is better together

As we join hands in the fight to end HIV/AIDS by 2030, we stand committed to supporting and uplifting young Ugandans across the entire country. As GLLO, our mission is to contribute to a future where HIV is no longer a threat to our communities. Health is wealth, and one of life’s greatest gifts is the ability to live healthy, strong, and free from lifelong medication.

Our vision is simple but powerful: a Uganda where everyone — especially women, young people, and the elderly — can wake up each day without fear, without complications, and without the burden of disease.

As we move together toward the global goal of ending HIV by 2030, we call upon all Ugandans to support this cause. Let us welcome and empower our young people, protect our communities, and spread awareness about the importance of health.

GLLOis committed to reaching universities, young women, girls, and communities across Uganda. Together, we can transform lives, strengthen families, and build a healthier nation.

As we head to Lira University in 2025, we invite you to stand with us. Your support means everything — to our cause, to our youth, and to Uganda at large. Together, we can end HIV by 2030.
