Social Research Initiative Uganda A leader in developing and applying new social science methods with a high commitment to educating the next generation of social scientists.

SRIU conducts survey research projects by telephone, mail and the web, in research areas that include population health, education, social service delivery, gender, the environment and voting behaviour. ISR also conducts a range of qualitative research, including focus group studies. Institute staff perform all stages of the survey research process from questionnaire design, sample selection and d

ata collection to the preparation of machine-readable data files, statistical analysis and report writing. The Initiative analyzes interactions among institutions, political processes, and individuals. The Research Initiative themes -- values and participation, media and politics, race and politics, and international peace and security -- are united by a concern for democracy and for the advancement of political analysis.
