ERUTE NORTH Festival "A Community Org in Lira-Ug using Sports to Promote Education, Youth & Women Empowerment Since 2017" These has been happening since 2017 to date.

BRIEF BACKGROUND OF ERUTE NORTH FESTIVAL (ENF).

❇️ It started in 2017 with supports from Dr. Opeto Tonny from Ogur Town Council, to date. The main aims and objectives is to Promote Education Through Sports where telented youth are supported, trained and identified from Erute North. They are exposed and connected to different schools in Uganda, especially those that needs students with talents for

sports scholarships, some of them are connected to sports clubs and others who are bright at school but coming from needy families, are paid direct to different schools in Uganda. Also through the festival foundation, there is Women Empowerment, Girl Child Education and Youth Development Programs through Creative Culture and Innovations.

❇️ The Festival took place consecutively in 2017, 2018 and 2019. It then then ended with Erute Derby in Jan 2020 between Erute North and Erute South. This was meant to forster Peace, Unity and effective Collaboration between the two constuencies. Covid 19 disorganized part of 2020 and 2021 and festival didn't take place. It resumed in 2022 with The Inter-Religious Sports Festival/ Tournament where all the religious denomination were represented. Catholic Church won the Tournaments.

❇️ In 2023. The main Festival has been reactivated. The theme still remains the same. PROMOTING EDUCATION THROUGH SPORTS. There will be coordination with various sports scouts who will be available during the event to select young sports men and women who can be supported in schoola and further talents developments. Your supports, positive ideas and suggestions are much welcomed to make this project successful.

Football is back in Erute County North. Erute North Derby Games 2025. Aromo, Ogur, Ayami and Agweng Sub Counties will all be in action from August 15th to 18th, 2025. Invited Chief Guest is Dr Opeto Tonny who will be present in all the four sub county Derby.

Proudly from Agweng, Erute North - Lira District. Congratulations to Brenda Apio and Team Uganda 🇺🇬 at the CAF African Schools Football Championship - 2025, in Accra - Ghana 🇬🇭. Ugandan team lost to Ghana (host) in the finals (FT: 2-0) and returns home 🏡 as Runners Up with cash prize of $200,000 (approxly 733,000,000 Ugshs).

ENF Success Story:
Brenda was spotted by Saviour Secondary School during the 2021 Erute North Festival (ENF) founded and sponsored by Dr Opeto Tonny Dr Opeto Tonny Tonny Opeto and taken to lira Primary School since she was still a primary school girl.
Through guidance of Coach Walter Wal , Thomas Okello and Alepo Alfred during her grassroot football, today Brenda Apio aka Ramsey of Auleipiny Village, Teadwong , Agweng subcounty is representing Uganda in Accra,Ghana.
May your doors continue opening our lovely daughter.And to those trying to promote girl's football keep the faith .
Congratulations to Brenda Apio upon this achievement.
