“This video highlights the invaluable role of our social work and pastoral care volunteers serving in the palliative care unit at Mulago National Referral Hospital. These dedicated individuals offer more than time—they bring presence, compassion, emotional support, and spiritual comfort to patients and families navigating life-limiting conditions. Today, we honour and appreciate our volunteers for their selfless service, listening ears, and comforting hearts. Your commitment reminds us that even in the most delicate moments, humanity, dignity, and love remain.”

Behind every strong patient and resilient family, there’s often a compassionate social worker standing quietly beside them.

This touching moment is a reminder of how powerful the presence and empathy can be. Social workers don’t just offer services they offer support, strength, and a sense of hope when it’s needed most.

To all the social workers who walk with families through life’s hardest chapters thank you.
