Mukono youth rocked backyard farming training this Week! 🌾

What an incredible turnout for our hands-on backyard farming training in Mukono these past days!

Over 50 young people aged 18-35 rolled up their sleeves and transformed spaces into food . Proud to see the energy and ideas flowing! In a season when many youth regard farming to be

• Hands-on demos turning kitchen waste into gold.
• High-yield crops: Planting sukuma wiki, tomatoes, onions, and spinach-perfect for Uganda’s climate.
• Water-smart techniques: Drip irrigation and mulching to conquer dry spells.
• Pest control: Natural methods for bountiful, chemical-free harvests.
• Marketing tips: Strategies to sell surplus and boost income via local markets or mobile money.

Thrilled to share the impact of our recent financial literacy training for youth in Mukono District! 🥳😊🙌

We worked with Mr. Ntegge Keneth, a man gifted with financial literacy skills, and a true leader.

We brought together various Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs), empowering dozens of young people with skills on saving, investing, and building a financial future.

▶️From basics to investment , the energy and enthusiasm were magnificent-watching them connect the dots on wealth creation was inspiring!

Investing in youth today builds stronger communities tomorrow. We are proud of this step forward and the future we are building together.

Community of Practice for Digital Safety: Our First Convening in 2026! 💃🎉

Happy New Year-congratulations on crossing over with us! 🎊🤗

🕺We kicked off the year with our inaugural gathering, bringing together a community of participants who shared real-life experiences with Technology-facilitated violence/ Online GBV and their coping strategies.

✅️This rich collective addressed key challenges like apathy, about digital violence, reporting, and the of online abuse.

⏩️We were honored to have Ashaba Mwiine Senior Lecturer at the of Gender and Development Studies, Makerere University, who unpacked the critical role of gender digital advocacy.

➡️It was a true safe space for , , and , with stakeholders from Airtel Uganda, Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection Women of Uganda Network and more.

What a joyful way to the year! 🎉🎂

And how can we celebrate without our biggest stakeholder, the -where our hearts belong🤭

Today, the joy in our hearts was beyond measure as we wrapped up the year in style. 💃🕺

We celebrated by cutting a delicious cake baked by one of our own 🙏. Even more special, the community chose to buy this cake from a participant who was trained in bakery by the cluster along Goshen's Fountain of Nutrition and Health -true testament to skills turning into sustainable livelihoods.

This celebration followed a joint VSLA training by the Principle Commercial Officer of Mukono District Local Government; where we continue to encourage our community to , wisely, and together.

vs. : Bridging the Gap to End Violence Against Women and Girls.

Last week, we joined Makerere University and other key stakeholders for a Public Dialogue themed “Linking Theory and Advocacy to Prevent Violence Against Women and Girls.”

Our Executive Director Carol Mukisa Cartnel, who served as one of the panelists, underscored our continued commitment to preventing GBV. She highlighted our collaboration with partners such as Women of Uganda Network and the of ICT & National Guidance which has contributed to the development of the Property Guidelines and strengthened our participation in advocacy spaces that are shaping digital-age policy reforms.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Academic Affairs, Prof. N. Ssali who reminded us that:

⏩️ What is intelligent ligent isn’t AI, but the people behind it
⏩️ We should never be apologetic about excellence
⏩️Ending online GBV starts with you and me
⏩️ We still lack sufficient female leadership in the digital tech era

While academia provides specialised expertise, research, and policy influence, the Women’s Rights Movement contributes field experience, networks, and -world of academic knowledge. Both must work hand-in-hand if we are to make lasting change.

We are proud to partner with institutions of higher learning such as University particularly the Institute of Gender and Development Studies (IGDS). Our heartfelt appreciation goes to .
