Since its founding in 2021, Seed Community Relief (SCORE), a survivor-led indigenous NGO in Uganda, has supported over 75,000 survivors of modern slavery, educated more than 250 communities, established anti-slavery committees in over 80 villages, reintegrated more than 200 survivors, and helped 85% of skills program participants achieve stable income - all while working to dismantle exploitation at its roots. Through three pillars of action — community outreach, capacity enhancement and research and advocacy — SCORE raises awareness about modern slavery, equips survivors with vocational skills such as soap-making, fashion design, and ICT training, and amplifies survivor voices to push for stronger legal protections and policy reforms at district and national levels. Founded by Kiima Stv Jr., himself a survivor of child labor, the organization brings lived experience to its mission of eliminating forced labor, human trafficking, child early and forced marriage, sexual slavery, and economic exploitation across Uganda.
