Earlier this week, 200 women and 76 children joined weekly mindful movement offering. Children learn by doing and watching. So do adults. We never stop taking in information and processing our surroundings especially our place in them. When we witness others caring for others we also heal.

When we witness acts of kindness, we feel “moral elevation” - that warm, calming uplift as empathy and reward circuits engage, oxytocin/dopamine nudge cues of safety, and we become more likely to help others - boosting mood, hope, and belonging.

This is The Nachan Project. For 8 years running on acts of kindness and the perfection of giving.

The visit from the Ministry of Health was a pivotal moment! It shed light on the harsh realities faced by the Katwe slum community, particularly the children. The poor conditions, lack of proper sanitation, and inadequate sleeping arrangements are a stark reminder of the need for collective action.

The Ministry's commitment to collaborate with Nachan Project is a beacon of hope. Together, you can create meaningful change and provide a safer, healthier environment for these children to thrive.

Potential areas of collaboration include:
- Improving access to clean water and sanitation
- Education and awareness on hygiene and health practices

We remind the women at Nachan to focus on gratitude and positivity. We come together to sing, play, and celebrate, refreshing our minds and building strength to face daily challenges in the slums. Many of our staff either grew up in the streets or live in the slums, too. Play is a necessary component of resiliency for All beings 🙏❤️.
