We all have twenty-four hours a day, one hundred and sixty-eight hours a week. With multiple people and priorities pulling us in various directions, life can be hectic. It can be tempting to let our time and effort go undirected, worse still, misdirected. When we do, our most important earthly relationships suffer, falter, and sometimes fail. Be purposeful. Be ready to say "No" to some people and priorities so you can say "Yes" to others.
We assume tomorrow will come; the reality is that none of us know when we'll breathe our last breath; the same holds for our loved ones. Tell others how much they mean to you and how grateful you are to have them in your life. Something as simple as a call or a text message is a great way to let someone know you love them and are thinking of them. Has it been a while since you visited? It may be time to meet for a walk, coffee, dinner, etc. Often, the seemingly small gestures mean the most.
Whether we know one another "in person" or through the Internet, I am thankful that God has brought us together. In one way or another, you encourage, support, and challenge me to be a better Christian, husband, father, and friend - I love and am thankful for you all.
From my home to yours, a blessed and merry Christmas.
