Support a SIGNALS’ climate action efforts

Andrew Sande is a SIGNAL in Uganda whose community is currently facing an emergency climate crisis.

The first thing Andrew told us was this:
“Six drainages… completely blocked. When the rain comes, there’s nowhere for the water to go.”

In Kazo and Katogo Ggaba, that’s not just an inconvenience—it’s a disaster waiting to happen.

Right now, plastic waste has clogged the channels that protect entire communities. When the floods hit, homes fill with water, animals get trapped, and disease spreads fast. The people who suffer most? The elderly—those who can’t run, dig, or rebuild on their own.

This is the obstacle:
The drainages are blocked—and without equipment, they cannot be cleared in time.

Andrew and a team of local volunteers are ready to act. They’re prepared to spend days clearing all six drainages, collecting and sorting plastic, and making sure waste is responsibly managed.

What’s missing is simple:
The tools and trucks to do the job.

A contribution here doesn’t just “help a cause”—it directly clears a path for water to flow again. It prevents floods. It protects lives.

And many who’ve already stepped in said the same thing:
“I didn’t realize something this small could protect an entire community.”
