Bettermanproject Intiative Kawempe Uganda (BMPU), in collaboration with Uganda Media Women's Association (UMWA) and Bukoto Community Development Fund (BUCODEF) with support from Children's Rights and Violence Prevention Fund has conducted an interactive financial literacy workshop of the youths in Nakawa and Kawempe Divisions.

Through practical sessions and mentorship, youth were trained to develop business ideas, understand savings culture, and navigate the basics of financial access.

📢 Exciting Youth Empowerment Initiative Launched in Kawempe & Nakawa!

We are thrilled to announce the commencement of a transformative project aimed at enhancing the capacity of youth in Nakawa and Kawempe divisions. This initiative is a collaborative effort between Betterman Project Initiative (BMPU), Uganda Media Women's Association , Bukoto Community Development Fund (BUCODEF), and is supported by the Children’s Rights and Violence Prevention Fund (CRVPF) under the Empower Youth Through Data and Community Development (EYDCD) program.

🌱 Project Highlights:
Entrepreneurship & Vocational Training: Youth will receive comprehensive training in entrepreneurship and vocational skills, equipping them with the tools needed to create dignified and sustainable employment opportunities.

Market Linkages: The program will facilitate connections between young entrepreneurs and local markets, enhancing their access to customers and business growth opportunities.

Digitization of Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs): To improve financial inclusion, the initiative will support the digitization of youth-led VSLAs, enabling better access to financial services and products from local financial institutions.

Through this ongoing program, youth in Nakawa and Kawempe are being empowered to achieve economic stability and self-sufficiency, reducing their vulnerability and fostering community development.
