BIG ANNOUNCEMENT
The is back, bigger and bolder.
From March 2023 to January 2024,
Our team visited over 30 schools and different communities, collecting data on what peace means to them and how they can foster peace in themselves and their communities. The same question applies to schools: what does peace mean to you, and how can we foster peace?
Young people were amazing and promising. They requested capacity building and the formation of a supportive network to provide them with knowledge, resources, and guidance. Interestingly, they asked for a platform to discuss peace in an innovative and creative way. Our team designed a program that exactly fits their needs, attracting 100% engagement. This program was named the Peace Festival, incorporating elements of innovation, creativity, and a youth-centered approach.
You can refer to reports and updates (videos) on our social media platforms.
In February 2024,
Our team invited 18 schools, targeting 2000 participants. Surprisingly, we received requests from 7 other schools wanting to participate in the 1st edition of the Peace Festival. Our target was 2000 participants, but we received 3100.
Since then, the festival has grown into an annual Youth Peace Summit. This year, it's a three-day event, and we're ready to host 5000 delegates as we discuss peace and address both youth livelihood and pressing global challenges.
The dates are 18th to 20th September
Venue: Bweranyangi Girls Secondary School- Bushenyi District
We're breaking barriers, building bridges, and transforming communities by empowering youths.
