During a powerful panel at the Gender-Inclusive Finance Innovation Expo, Connie Kekihembo, CEO of UWEAL, highlighted a key point:
"Yes, we need finances, but what really drives a business is access to markets."

As banks have shared their needs with us and the Women Entrepreneurs Platforms (WEPs), it’s clear that while financial support is essential, women entrepreneurs need markets to thrive.

That’s why UWEAL established iSOKO, a digital marketplace designed to provide women entrepreneurs with access to markets, business tools, and real-time trade information.

UWEAL is committed to empowering women with the right tools and networks to scale and succeed. Let’s continue to create spaces where businesses flourish, not just survive.

The expo is organized by the Private Sector Foundation Uganda and the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development, with support from the World Bank.

What an inspiring Day 2 at the Expo in Kampala! Yesterday, UWEAL proudly showcased how we’re championing women entrepreneurs across Uganda, sharing stories, solutions, and the impact we’re making together. 💪✨

Today, we’re excited to take the conversation further as we explore the power of market access and financial inclusion through the GROW Project, opening new doors for women-led businesses nationwide. 🌍💼
