One blue chair. One brave kid. One life changed 🦷💙

No fancy clinic. No dental chair. Just grass, sunshine, and a heart to serve.

No electricity. No problem. We bring care to where it's needed most.

This is what a day with African Smilers Association - ASA looks like — our volunteer kneeling in the dirt to reach the child at his level, while mama watches close. In the background, the next family is already waiting.

This little hero came in scared. Left with oral health education, a toothbrush, and a big smile.

This is ASA. Real outreach. Real impact.

Together we do:
✅ Free dental care - screenings, cleanings, SDF & extractions
✅ Toothbrushes, toothpaste & smiles for kids & families
✅ Education that lasts long after we leave

You don't need a perfect setup to make a perfect impact. You just need to show up.

Ready to trade your scrubs for purpose? Want to be in the next photo?

Join ASA for 2 weeks of service + adventure. We take as many volunteers as can come — Dentists, Hygienists, Assistants & non-clinical friends all welcome!

May 2027 Adventure includes:
🦁 Murchison Falls National Park
🥾 Top of the Falls hike
⛵ Boat cruise to the Devil's Cauldron
🦍 Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable misty forests
🌊 Relaxation at Lake Bunyonyi

Volunteers pay an amount that caters for all that — food, local transport, accommodation & tour sites entry fees. Clinical work is 100% free to the community.

Come volunteer with us!🌍🦷

This May 2026, our amazing volunteers from Switzerland, Belgium, and Quebec, Canada joined the African Smilers Association - ASA team and made magic happen across underserved communities in Uganda.

Together we did free dental care: cleanings, extractions, cementing, SDF application, plus donated clothes, shoes, books, toothbrushes and paste. We gave oral health education, laughed, played cards after clinic, shared stories at cultural centers, and learned so much hand in hand with our Ugandan team.

And because service and joy go together, we traded scrubs for adventure gear on day 4. We crossed the Equator from northern to southern hemisphere, tracked wildlife in Queen Elizabeth National Park, met elephants, antelopes, buffaloes, hippos and crocs in the rain, trekked wild mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, and ended with goodbyes at the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi.

WHAT'S NEXT WITH ASA:

1. OCTOBER 2026 🇹🇿
We have a campaign planned with our Swiss team in Tanzania!
Everyone should watch for updates on dates and how to join.

2. 2027 CAMPAIGNS
We plan to have two campaigns:
- May 2027
- October 2027

We invite individuals and groups!
Note: We are especially interested in groups because the more people we have, the less the levy and the lighter the budget for everyone.

Important: You do NOT have to be a dentist to join!
Even non-dentists are invited and we have lots of roles to play — education, logistics, community outreach, donations, support, and more. Everyone has a place on the ASA team.

Get involved. Touch lives while having fun. Meet new people, make new friends, enhance your skills, learn new things, broaden your horizons. Get a real cultural experience, learn some dance moves from the Ug-kids 😆, and change lives for people who can’t afford dental treatment.

Go home with a story to tell and memories that stay forever.
