Our CEO is representing at the in Nairobi. He took the main stage today to make the case that health literacy is the system that determines whether communities can actually use and benefit from AI in healthcare.

He stated that community members are one health crisis away from financial ruin. Yet health literacy remains the most underfunded layer in Africa's health systems despite being the most cost-effective intervention available.

He challenged the room on why we kept building the roof before the foundation. Most African governments are still not meeting the Abuja Declaration target of 15% health budget allocation. Doctor to population ratios are critically low.

The result is AI diagnostic tools being deployed into communities that were never prepared to receive them. No trust built. No comprehension. There is no mechanism to push back when the system gets it wrong.

He put it simply. Health literacy is the base of the cake. AI is the cherry on top. You cannot place a cherry on air. Get that order wrong and the whole system collapses at the last mile.
