A huge thank you to the very kind individual who responded to our last newsletter and offered to support our Seniors Group by buying each member four 7-week old hens.

This week we went to check on the hens and we're delighted to report that they're doing really well and hopefully, will soon start laying eggs!

I've been moved by how much this "simple" gift has meant to the group. A couple of months on, they are still incredible excited, grateful and genuinely touched that someone, so far away, would think of them and want to bless them in such a practical way ❤️🐓

It's always a moving and humbling experience to make our monthly home visits to members of our seniors' group.
Older people are so often forgotten or overlooked, but it's a privilege to build a community of friendship, care and support with this wonderful group.
Today we visited Petero who is over 90 years old. He was delighted to receive a gift of 4 hens, posho, rice, groundnuts, soap, bread and salt.
Small acts of kindness can make a big difference, but even more importantly, these visits remind our seniors that they are seen, valued and loved!

A couple of weeks ago, we were honored to welcome Madam Hildah, Senior Probation and Child Welfare Officer at Rukungiri Municipal Council, to come and talk to our parents and caregivers about "Positive Parenting".
She covered issues ranging from the legal rights of a child, to health and hygiene, self esteem and discipline, and family dynamics.
We are thankful for her support, wisdom and encouragement as she drew on years of experience in this field as well as her own parenting journey.
From feedback and a Q&A session after, we believe that the parents and caregivers went home encouraged, challenged and ready to make some changes.

Maria’s joy. A beautiful home visit to 97 year old Maria this afternoon. We love, value and appreciate each one of our Seniors Group. Maria is such a strong and optimistic lady who inspires us all!

Thanks to a recent donation, we have been able to bless each member of our Seniors Group with a solar light. None of them are connected to mains power, so this will be a huge help to them, especially in the evenings and at night. 💡
Our three members who are unable to attend the group (due to mobility issues) will have lights delivered to them at their home by our team.

Our Hope Cards Project is about much more than
⭐️ learning a new skill
🌺 earning money to start a business
🌼 developing creativity . to name just a few
It’s also about FRIENDSHIP and being there for each other in times of need 💜
Some of us recently visited a Hope Cards member whose husband has had a serious accident. We were able to take a simple hamper with some useful household items to bless the family and support them through this difficult time. Each lady was also able to give a small financial gift as a result of what she is earning through the card making project.

A huge thank you to those who are buying cards. It might look like a simple card, but behind it is a story, a life blessed, renewed hope. 🙏 🌹

We are happy to see some of our students, Prisca, Sandra, Honest and Peter (“candidates” for Primary Leaving Examinations, O Levels or A Levels) going for holiday coaching. We wish them the best as their exams creep closer!
