Young people from the Uganda Scouts Association actively participated in the National Youth Peace Walk, a nationwide initiative aimed at promoting peace, unity, civic responsibility, and youth engagement in national development.

The walk commenced at the historic Independence Monument, a symbolic site representing Uganda’s sovereignty, and proceeded through the city centre of Kampala, culminating at the Kololo Independence Grounds, a key venue for national celebrations and public gatherings.

13th March – Africa Scout Day

Africa Scout Day is celebrated every year on 13th March to recognize the contribution of Scouting in promoting peace, leadership, and community service among young people in Africa. The day was established by the African Union in 1995 to honor the work of Scouts under the World Organization of the Scout Movement.

Scouts celebrate the day through activities such as community service, tree planting, leadership training, and promoting peace. The movement was founded by Robert Baden-Powell and continues to inspire young people to serve their communities.

Africa Scout Day reminds Scouts to work together to build peaceful and sustainable communities. ⚜️🌍

Founder’s Day Celebrations 2026 marks a meaningful tribute to the life and legacy of Lord Baden-Powell, the founder of the Scout Movement. Scouts and leaders came together in unity to reflect on the values of service, discipline, and good citizenship. Through parades, prayers, and community service activities, the celebrations reminded young people of their duty to God, country, and community, and renewed their commitment to live by the Scout Promise and Law.
