THE SOUTH SUDAN'S EMBASSY TO THE REPUBLIC OF UGANDA COONVENES A MEETING WITH UNION'S PRESIDENCY AND SOUTH SUDANESE COMMUNITIES' LEADERS .

On 7th January 2026, the SSSU-U's VP H.E Nhial Puoch Nguoth and the community leaders visited H.E Amb.Molong , ambassador of the Republic of South Sudan to Uganda, to discuss the pre-and-post-election safety of the South Sudanese students and the wider South Sudanese community in Uganda. In his message to the South Sudanese in Uganda,H.E Amb. Molong emphasized the significance of prioritizing personal safety during this period.

He advised all the South Sudanese in Uganda to never physically or verbally meddle in the politics of Uganda. He tasked community leaders and students' leadership to sensitize South Sudanese in Uganda to the fact that personal safety is the most important of all during this period.As one of the avenues to dispatch the ambassador's message to the student fraternity in Uganda, the SSSU-U leadership Uganda takes the lead in sending a reminder to all the students to stay vigilant and mind personal safety and to refrain from involving in Ugandan politics.

THE SOUTH SUDANESE STUDENTS' UNION IN UGANDA VISITS AND DISTRIBUTES SPECIFIC ITEMS TO STUDENTS AT OFUA COMMUNITY SECONDARY SCHOOL.

On 10th November, the team from the SSSU-U's executive headed by H.E Natalia Namaku Jackson Jelly, the union's president paid a visit to Ofua community secondary school in Ofua 3 settlement. The visit,aside from career guidance,was chiefly centered around delivering support to South Sudanese refugee students who hardly afford to attain these basic items.

The union's ministry of refugee affairs under Hon. Ayen Lueth Keer (Ayen Mayen) earlier this year presented the refugee-student outreach program which was approved by the council. The union's leadership under H.E Natalia Namaku appreciates Hon. Ayen Lueth for the sacrifices she made to ensure the project is achieved and all the well-wishers who partly made this program a success.
Hon. Victor Malish, the deputy secretary for refugee affairs,was on the ground. The items included scholastic materials such books,pens ,bar soap and sanitary pads for girls.

The President's message to Ofua community secondary school students was to remain patriotic and never at any moment entertain tribalism , remain united and to rally behind the government .

SOUTH SUDANESE STUDENTS' UNION IN UGANDA (SSSU-U) HOSTS A CULTURAL GALA IN WEST NILE REGION IN COORDINATION WITH SOUTH SUDANESE STUDENTS' ASSOCIATION (SSUSA) .

On Saturday 8th November, SSSU-U hosted the cultural gala event in coordination with SSUSA. This event encompassed cultural dance performances from different South Sudanese communities . Dance troupes representing different universities and high schools also showcased and presented any South Sudanese traditional dance of their choice.

The event was meant to celebrate and further strengthen "UNITY," among the South Sudanese communities living in the West Nile region.
The SSSU-U's West Nile coordinator,Hon ByGod Tabura with his colleague Bishop Wani and the entire team managed to organize the lively and captivating celebration that continued till late evening.

Speaking at the event,H.E Natalia Namaku Jackson Jelly reminded the South Sudanese community in Arua more especially the mothers to instill nationalism and patriotism in their children and discourage any act of tribalism. She also advised the student-body to stand firm with the government of South Sudan .

THE NATIONAL MINISTER OF YOUTH AND SPORTS,HON. MARY NAWAI MARTIN,GRACES THE CULTURAL GALA.

On 28th September, the Republic of South Sudan's minister of Youth and Sports who was the event's guest of honor delivered a captivating speech reaffirming the significance of our country's cultural diversity. The event which took place at Clarke International University was a huge success encompassing dance performances and modelling sessions from different institutions. The celebrations which commenced in the morning and ended late in the evening symbolized the sense of " oneness and togetherness" among the South Sudanese students in Uganda.

Amongst the eminent guests of the day were the Vice Chancellor of Clark International University (CIU), Dr. Rose Clarke Nanyonga, the undersecretary of ministry of health, Republic of South Sudan,Dr. Kennedy Ganiko ,Amb. Simon Mikanipare ,founder of the Sunrays Foundation, representatives from the SPLM Chapter in Uganda and many more distinguished guests .

Verbatim, Hon. Nawai described culture as the identity and a "breathing soul ," soul of the people. She further stressed that our cultural diversity is not a barrier to unity but one of our greatest strengths .
Hon. Nawai, concludingly ,was appreciative of the Ugandan people for their sense hospitality .
