A SAD STORY OF GATUMBUFor eleven long years, little Gatumbu has lived in silence and struggle. Born with a leg condition that has worsened over time, every day has been a battle he never chose. His aunt—who has been his only guardian—has carried this burden alone. She has wiped his tears, lifted him when he could not walk, and stayed awake many nights praying for a miracle. But with no support, no stable income, and no medical help, she has watched his condition grow more painful year after year.Gatumbu is a bright, gentle child who dreams of running, playing, and going to school like other children. Yet his leg has kept him trapped in a life of suffering, unable to stand without pain. His aunt has never given up on him, but hope was slowly fading. Then, New Hope for Orphans Africa found this family—hidden in hardship, forgotten in silence. After seeing Gatumbu’s condition, we knew we could not walk away. Doctors confirmed that he urgently needs an operation, and the earliest possible date is January 2026. This surgery is his chance to finally walk again, to start school, and to live a life every child deserves. But we cannot do it alone. We are kindly asking everyone with a compassionate heart to join us. Let us raise the funds needed for Gatumbu’s operation and give him a new beginning. Even the smallest support can bring him one step closer to healing.Together, let’s help Gatumbu stand, walk, and smile again.
