Kwemboi Lewis, President of the Forum for African Model United Nations (FAMU), applauded the strong collaboration between FAMU and Africa Tourism and Environment Initiatives (ATEI) during the Climate Change Awareness Marathon and Green Expo, held at Makerere University Freedom Square to mark World Car-Free Day.

He commended ATEI’s efforts in empowering youth to take the lead in climate advocacy and sustainable development. Quoting Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Lewis reminded participants that:

“In the end, we will not remember the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.”

He urged everyone not to remain silent about the devastating effects of climate change, but to speak up, act, and innovate for a sustainable future.
