*CRCU Wednesday Community Awareness Meeting Summary*

The Congolese Refugee Community in Uganda (CRCU) held its weekly Wednesday Community Awareness Meeting to discuss important issues affecting refugees and to share useful information around 350 participated.
_The meeting covered the following key points:

1. Congolese Interpreters
We discussed the role and conduct of Congolese interpreters working with AHA and UNHCR.
Interpreters were encouraged to maintain professionalism, integrity, and continue serving the community with honesty.
We also discussed the interpreters recently placed in government health facilities and emphasized that they must avoid fraud and corruption while carrying out their duties.
3. Security Awareness
Refugees were advised to avoid locations that have become targets of police operations against stolen electronic goods, particularly around cooper complex, Kikuubo Complex and Kisenyi.
Community members were encouraged not to visit these places without a valid reason, as security agencies are on high alert.
4. Land Purchase Guidance
The meeting provided information on the different types of land ownership in Uganda and discussed which options are most suitable for refugees.
Representatives from NRC and Justice Centres Uganda (JCU) explained the legal procedures for buying land.
Refugees were informed that lawyers are available to provide free legal guidance and help them obtain the proper documentation when purchasing land.
5. Business Financing through FINCA
Participants learned about business loan opportunities available through FINCA.
Refugees were encouraged to access these loans to expand their businesses, become self-reliant, and continue contributing to Uganda's economy through entrepreneurship, agriculture, and other productive activities.
6. Ebola Awareness Session
Representatives from AHA conducted an Ebola awareness session and educated participants about the different Ebola virus species
