Ewaka Foundation Uganda is a non-profit organization founded to uplift the lives of disadvantaged children in Uganda.

We provide shelter, education, health care and above all, support, care and love. Ewaka Foundation Uganda was founded to uplift the lives of disadvantaged children in Uganda. It is our dream to give every child a chance to have a fulfilling and promising life. For this, we focus on education, competence development and vocational training. Through artistic and cultural exchange with our partners abroad, we further promote knowledge transfer and understanding between cultures.

We are so excited to welcome Mia and Jasmine to the Ewaka Foundation family
For the next one year, these two amazing volunteers will be joining our team and sharing their time, skills, energy and hearts with the Ewaka community.
They’ll be supporting our different projects and programs, working alongside our team and most importantly, creating meaningful moments and opportunities for the children and communities we serve.

Our internal and external beneficiaries came together to celebrate Rosa’s birthday and turned the day into a colourful celebration of creativity, laughter and friendship.
The children designed their very own T-shirts, played games, shared lots of laughter and simply enjoyed being together. Seeing them create, connect and have fun reminded us that sometimes the simplest moments become the most special memories.

We are proud of the incredible creativity and joy that filled our recent art session
The kids turned plain frisbees into personal masterpieces and made bracelets showing off their unique artistic talents and bright smiles. From vibrant floral patterns to imaginative drawings, each piece is a true reflection of the creativity that flourishes in our community. Seeing their pride and enthusiasm is everything we work for.

Behind every child is a story, a dream, a voice waiting to be listened to. Sometimes, what a child needs most isn’t another instruction, it’s someone who pauses, listens and says, “I see you. I hear you. You matter.”
We believe that children should never feel invisible. We create spaces where young people can express themselves, share their ideas, discover their strengths and know that their voices have value.
Because when a child is seen, they begin to believe in themselves.
When a child is heard, they begin to believe their voice matters.
And when a child is given the opportunity to dream, the possibilities become endless.

This weekend marked the beginning of a beautiful partnership between Ewaka Foundation and Light Primary School through our Sports Program, a collaboration built on the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.
The day was filled with laughter, teamwork and endless energy as the children participated in a variety of fun games and sports activities. Beyond the excitement, these moments helped build confidence, strengthen friendships and remind every child that they belong.
We believe that sports are more than just games. They teach discipline, resilience, leadership and the power of working together , lessons that last a lifetime.
We are excited for all that lies ahead as we continue creating safe, joyful spaces where children can play, dream and reach their full potential.

Education is more than a classroom, it’s an opportunity to rewrite a future.
This month 7 incredible young people have begun their journeys in vocational institutions, pursuing careers in nursing, tailoring, hairdressing, mechanics and driving. Every skill they learn is a step toward independence, dignity and a future filled with possibility.
We are honored to invest in their dreams and we cannot wait to see the lives they will build, the communities they will serve and the impact they will make.

Home visits are an important part of the work we do.
They give us the opportunity to connect more deeply with the young people and families in our community, to listen to their stories, understand their realities and build meaningful relationships rooted in trust and care.
Each visit reminds us that every home carries its own joys, challenges, hopes and dreams. By showing up, we create space for conversations, support and connection beyond our usual programs.
Real impact happens when we meet people where they are with compassion, respect and a willingness to listen.
Every home visit strengthens our belief that community care matters and that lasting change begins with human connection.

Tonight, we say goodbye to a very special soul who has been part of the EWAKA family. It is difficult to put into words how grateful we are for the time, love and dedication she has shared with us.
From the laughter and joy she brought while playing with our children to the meaningful projects she implemented, she has left footprints that will remain in our hearts and in our community for years to come. Her kindness, patience and willingness to serve have touched every child, staff member and family she interacted with.
Thank you for choosing to share your time, your skills and your beautiful spirit with EWAKA. We have loved having you around and saying goodbye is not easy. Though you are leaving tonight, you will always be part of the EWAKA family.
We wish you safe travels and endless success in your journey ahead. Remember that you have a home and many little hearts that will always remember you here in Uganda.

We’ve given our playground a whole new life with bright, colorful paint that makes it feel joyful, welcoming and full of energy again. Seeing the space shine like this brings smiles to everyone who visits

Our Sports Center also received a fresh makeover and is looking better than ever. And of course, the basketball court couldn’t be left behind , brand new nets are up and ready for action
Everything is set, refreshed and ready for unforgettable moments, exciting matches and lots of fun ahead. We’d say nothing stands in the way of the next games now.
