ANNOUNCEMENT TO AGAAR COMMUNITY IN UGANDA

The family of late Sultan Dut Malual Arop, who passed on earlier in May 2026, warmly invites all members of the Agaar Community and Lakes community at large to attend the 40 Days Prayer Memorial in honor of our beloved father and respected elder.

This gathering is organized to remember and celebrate the life, leadership, and legacy of our long-serving elder from Rumbek, late Sultan Dut Malual Arop. It will be a time of prayer, sharing memories, unity, and comfort as a community.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT BY RUMBEK YOUTH UNION – UGANDA (RUMYU-UG)
HANDS OFF RUMBEK NATIONAL SECONDARY SCHOOL

The Rumbek Youth Union – Uganda (RUMYU-UG), representing the voice of Rumbek youth in Uganda firmly expresses its complete rejection of the proposed decision to relocate Rumbek National Secondary School and allocate its premises to the proposed expansion and establishment of Rumbek University of Science and Technology(RUST).

1. A NATIONAL HERITAGE THAT MUST NOT BE TOUCHED
Rumbek National Secondary School is not just an ordinary institution. Established in 1948, it is the first secondary school in Southern Sudan and a cornerstone of our national identity. It has shaped generations of leaders, intellectuals, and patriots who contributed immensely to the history and development of our nation.
Its significance goes beyond buildings—it lies in its historical foundation, environment, and legacy. Relocating it would not preserve it; it would diminish its identity and disconnect it from its roots.

2. DEVELOPMENT MUST NOT COME THROUGH DESTRUCTION
We fully support the expansion of higher education, including the establishment of universities. However, true development builds—it does not replace or destroy.

If the government is committed to establishing the Rumbek University of Science and Technology, then it must:
Develop new land which was already allocated in Abinajok Wulu county road and facilities
Invest in sustainable infrastructure
Preserve long-standing national institutions
Replacing a historic secondary school with a university is not progress—it is a costly mistake that sacrifices the past for short-term convenience.

3. A RESPONSIBLE APPEAL TO NATIONAL LEADERSHIP
We respectfully urge the Government of South Sudan, the Ministry of Education, and all representatives of the Rumbek community at national and state levels to reconsider this decision.
Good leadership listens, consults, and protects national heritage. This is a moment that requires wisdom, not urgency—dialogue, not imposition.

CONCLUSION
Rumbek National Secondary School is a symbol of our history, pride, and identity. It must not be dismembered, relocated, or repurposed.

Let the university be built—but not at the cost of our heritage.

We stand firm:

Preserve Rumbek National Secondary School
Build the university elsewhere
Protect our history for future generations

ANNOUNCEMENT TO AGAAR COMMUNITY

The leadership of RUMYU-UG is pleased to inform the Agaar community that tomorrow, 1st January 2026, we shall hold a New Year Celebration at Omega Church, Batabata, immediately after the church service at 5:00 PM.
We warmly invite all members of the Agaar community, as well as our brothers and sisters from Lakes State and South Sudanese community at large, to come and join us as we celebrate making it into the New Year and share hope for a better year ahead.
The celebration will be full of joy and unity, with the main activity being cultural dance, along with a time of togetherness and thanksgiving.
Let us come in good numbers and celebrate as one community.

Official Announcement: Funeral Arrangements for the Late Eng. Capt. Mading Mabor Mading

The family, relatives, friends, colleagues, and the general public are hereby informed of the arrival of the body of the Late Eng. Capt. Mading Mabor Mading.

The body will arrive in Juba on Friday, 29th August 2025, at 1:30 PM at Juba International Airport. All mourners are kindly invited to gather at the airport from 12:30 PM Juba time. Entry will be through the Air Force Gate, along Juba Town Road, opposite the Aviation Offices.
Funeral Program:

A) 1:30 PM: Arrival of the body at Juba International Airport.

😎 Following the airport arrival, the body will be transferred to Emmanuel Parish Church in Hai Cimen (opposite Juba One Primary School) for funeral prayers and final respects. Mourners who are unable to attend the airport arrival are kindly directed to join the service directly at the church.

Transport will be provided from the late's residence in the Madhis ( YDK Petroleum)

We request your presence and prayers as we prepare to lay our beloved to rest.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Good morning Agaar community

We have received devastating news about the passing of Agaar’s son and national figure, Capt. Chief Pachong Mabor, who passed away yesterday morning in Nairobi. Due to this tragic loss, the Cultural Day event is hereby postponed until further notice.

With deep sorrow, I also inform the union that last evening I have lost my uncle’s wife, Nyantueny Majok Derder, wife to my uncle Alueth Magol Aliet.

The union and community at large will therefore be in mourning. All executives will later agree on a new date for the event. Afterward, the Hon. Secretary for Culture together with the Rt. Hon. Speaker will proceed to Las Vegas Gardens to formally extend the venue booking and remove the banner at the gate.
