Defying Funding Cuts to Deliver Life-Saving Health Commodities in Nakiwogo Landing Site – A Valentine’s Day of Impact
While many celebrated Valentine’s Day with flowers and chocolates, our team at Iway Community Development Network Ltd spent the day in a different way—spreading love through action by delivering life-saving health commodities to the people of Nakiwogo Landing Site, Entebbe.
Despite ongoing funding cuts that have made service delivery increasingly difficult, we remained committed to ensuring that vulnerable communities receive the healthcare support they deserve. The landing site, home to hundreds of fisherfolk and their families, faces significant health challenges, including limited access to sexual and reproductive health services, HIV prevention, and maternal healthcare.
With determination and strategic resource mobilization, our team successfully distributed essential health commodities, including contraceptives, HIV self-test kits, and safe pregnancy resources. We also provided education on sexual and reproductive health, empowering community members—especially women and young girls—with knowledge to make informed decisions about their well-being.
This Valentine’s Day was not just about romantic love; it was about love in its truest form—compassion, service, and solidarity with those in need. As we continue navigating financial uncertainties, our resolve remains unshaken. We believe that every individual, regardless of their socioeconomic status, deserves access to quality healthcare.
Through partnerships, advocacy, and the resilience of our team, we will continue defying challenges to deliver life-saving interventions. Because true love is ensuring that no one is left behind.
