The woman behind Wasin Africa Foundation🥰🥰🥲
Lalaine Wasin is the CEO of Wasin Africa Foundation WAF, a Kampala-based organization committed to empowering young people, women, and children with disabilities. Through education, resources, and opportunities, the foundation helps them to overcome poverty, unlock their full potential, and contribute to a more inclusive and dignified society.
Lalaine acknowledges the unique challenges that women-led organizations, particularly those focused on marginalized groups, face when seeking financial support. A lack of access to powerful networks and investors, which are often more readily available to male-led initiatives, makes securing funding and expanding programs more difficult.
Despite these obstacles, her message to young women aspiring to lead their own foundations is to have faith and persist, “The journey can be challenging, but the impact of your work will be profound. Embrace your strengths and let your unique voice shine to effect change. You possess the ability to inspire, lead, and drive change, don't forget that.”
Through her leadership, Lalaine is breaking barriers and proving that women-led initiatives can transform lives, uplift communities, and pave the way for a more equitable future.
