As representatives of several Labour Migration entities, we yesterday convened to review and refine the Migrant workers Recruitment Advisory Platform, create and innovate some ideas on how we can promote coordination, and ethical recruitment.

Other stakeholders in attendance included the Ministry of Gender Labour and Social Development, NOTU, Foundation of Ugandan joint Migrant Workers for peace and Development, Federation of Uganda Employers, UAERA-Association of Uganda External Recruitment Agencies, Migrant Labour Trainers Association, and others.

The meeting was held at NOTU.

🇺🇬 Uganda Embassy — Important Notice!

The Embassy calls on all Ugandans currently in overstay status in the UAE to register immediately.

Following a request by the Uganda Embassy, the UAE government has generously agreed to waive all overstay fines for Ugandans who wish to return home.

*Conditions:*
✅ You must be ready to return to Uganda
✅ You must buy your own air ticket

Given the much work done by our Ugandan Migrant Workers, plus the ever increasing costs of living in Uganda and globally, we continue to engage the appropriate MDAs to ensure that the salaries of the Ugandan Migrant Workers are increased.

We too continue to call for the passing of the Minimum wage law, and minimum salaries for the Ugandan workers, with the internal workers at 500,000ugx and external workers at 1,500,000ugx.
