What Does it Mean to Prioritize Vegetables or Plant based foods!!! So Called Vegan / Veganism.
First and foremost; Veganism is a lifestyle that excludes the routine consumption and use of animal products. This means not eating meat, dairy, eggs or any other animal-derived products daily.
And if we flash back into the current trends of our eating habits; 95% of the people prefer junks.

Lets look at the importance of veganism our human health
1) A plant-based diet is linked to lower rates of heart diseases, cancer, hypertension and diabetes among others. This is Plant-based diets has lower unhealthy fats and increased fiber intake. These diets are also rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
It also helps with weight loss and overall well-being.

On the other hand, veganism is crucial for the environment protection. The meat and dairy industries are major contributors to greenhouse gas emissions, deforestation and water pollution by large. By choosing a vegan lifestyle, we can help reduce our carbon footprint and protect the earth for future generations as we aim to protect ourselves from Global warming.

As community Health Living (COHEAL) NGO We are committed to improving lives together, and one way is by promoting veganism that can lead to a healthier and more sustainable lives and world for all.
Let's work together to make a positive impact on our health and the environment through veganism.
Take home;
Purpose to have a vegan week on your calendar where you dedicate a week to have a plant based diet. It does No Harm and it Makes You Non less of a human But rather a savior to your life. Veganism is the Most 100% sure way to sustaining a habit than think as compared to being in a weight loss class on a GYM Session schedule. Think through and act At Once

Among the capacity building areas included resource mobilization, proposal and concept note writing and Marketing of products from their livelihood initiatives.
Some of the CBOs / Youth groups scope of work included;
1) Rehabilitative works towards Drug use among the Youth in Kampala /Ghetto Youth
2) Environmentally friendly conservation initiatives like Briquette making from Waste products disposed into the environment as an alternative for charcoal use given Charcoal has a lot of detrimental health and environmental issues
3) Soap making and sanitary pad making.
4) Sexual reproductive Health and rights advocacy.
5) Urban Gardening concept among others.

This training to the youth group led groups was timely in that One of the biggest challenges faced by the youth is unemployment.
It was very motivational to see such young people come together to have a positive contribution their future and country at large.
