Building something bigger than oneself is never easy. Since founding Kensad Childrens Hope Uganda 6 years ago, I've faced countless challenges, moments of panic, anxiety, and fear. There have been many times when it felt like we weren't making progress.

But now, for the first time, I can confidently say, "We are soon there!" The past three weeks have been incredibly rewarding, and I'm grateful for the journey.

A huge thank you to our amazing individuals from Netherlands 🇳🇱 and Belgium 🇧🇪 like Eline de Zoete Gerbrand Lub Fatuma Nantongo Els van Hoek Audry De Jong Marijn Fidder and Belgium like Céline De Munter Willem Van den Eynde Sofie Merckx who trusted us without hesitation. The relationships we've built are strong, the understanding we've discovered is authentic, and the appreciation we've found is genuine.

And to celebrate this milestone, I'm excited to share that I'll be marking my first-ever birthday celebration 🎂 on June 2nd! 🍾 It's going to be a momentous occasion, and I'm looking forward to sharing it with all of you.

Adults need villages too. Not just children.

We always say “it takes a village to raise a child.” But what happens when the adults are burnt out, lonely, and running on empty? Who raises them?

Right now, most of us live scattered. We parent alone. We grieve alone. We celebrate alone. We scroll at night because there’s no one to sit with. That isolation makes us sharp, anxious, tired. And tired adults can’t raise free children.

I want to build an eco-village because I believe we heal together, not in separate boxes.

I want a place where adults have a circle at dusk too — not just the kids. Where you can knock on a neighbor’s door when the day was too much. Where good, mostly positive people are already around you, so you don’t have to search for community after work, after crisis, after you’ve already fallen apart.

The eco-village isn’t just for children to grow up wild and safe.
It’s for _us_ to remember how to be human together again.

Children need a village to grow.
Adults need a village to stay whole.

This is me starting to build one.
The circle is open. Will you help me hold it? 🌿

And I’m excited to tell you that we have 1 Acre of land now ready to begin the process.

Our kids are always watching. And our actions speak louder than words.

We could yell and punish all day long, but all that will ever accomplish is kids who obey out of fear and see that we don’t practice what we preach.

Our example matters. The way we live our lives matters. The way we speak to others, to our children, to ourselves matters.

Because the example we set today has the power to impact generations to come, and we get to decide whether that impact is good or bad.
