Qurbani (Udhiyah) refers to Sacrifice. Every year, in Dhul Hijjah, Muslims around the world slaughter an animal (camel, cattle or sheep) for Allah and reflect on the lessons from Prophet Ibrahim عليه السلام as he was going to sacrifice his son Ismail عليه السلام – for the sake of Allah – when Allah replaced Ismail عليه السلام with an animal.

Udhiyah is one of the greatest rituals of Islam, in which we remember Allah, His blessings upon us and the obedience of our father Ibrahim عليه السلام to his Lord. For those who can financially afford it, Udhiyah is a highly recommended Sunnah according to the majority of scholars and Wajib (obligatory) according to Imam Abu Hanifah, Shaikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah and others. After the animal is sacrificed, the meat is distributed to the poor and needy.

Humanity Care Relief will ensure the Qurbani takes place in accordance to the Islamic guidelines of slaughtering an animal and that your donation reaches the most vulnerable, poor and needy so they too can enjoy Eid al-Adha with their loved ones.

Asalaam Aleikum. Mashallah this brother is back to Islam. He has said Shahada again.

Let me share this story. In 2004, I went to UCC Tororo for a two year business course. This was a new experience on foreign land. There were few practicing Muslims in this area. When we went out, we found this muslim family which embraced us as Muslim students. We used to gather at mzee's home for Iftar, eid. He used to slaughter Sheep for us whenever we met as Muslim students. His children used to supply Chapati which so delicious for Suhoor.

Then a few years back after losing his wife, children , lost his home, he got depressed and lost hope.

Born agains used this chance coz we were not around and didn't know wat was happening to him. He decided to embrace the born again faith. He resorted to drinking.

We came to learn about the situation and Mashallah our Chairman Kyakonye Badr together with Haj Asante the district Kadh Tororo district intervened and guided him back into Islam. He had lost hope.

Mashallah He said Shahada yesterday.
He needs to be assisted.
