Turning Pages into Progress📌
Empowerment is about more than just words; it’s about providing the tools to build a future. Today, Girls Empowered (GEU) held a hands-on book-making training session with our incredible community members.
From learning how to fold and align pages to the precision of binding and cutting, our participants are gaining practical, income-generating skills. Seeing the focus and creativity in the room was truly inspiring. By teaching the art of book-making, we aren’t just creating notebooks,we’re creating opportunities for self-reliance and entrepreneurship.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and to our dedicated trainers for sharing their expertise. Every stitch and every cut brings us one step closer to a more empowered community!

Girls Empowered Uganda Joins YouthConnect’s Annual Mental Health Camp

The annual Mental Health Camp organized by YouthConnect, themed “United To Combat The Silent Pandemic,” brought together various organizations dedicated to promoting mental health awareness and breaking stigma. Girls Empowered Uganda was proud to be part of this impactful event, contributing to activities focused on empowering adolescents—especially girls—with knowledge and skills for their overall well-being.
At the camp, representatives from Girls Empowered Uganda participated alongside other stakeholders, advocating for mental health support and encouraging young people to “BreakTheStigma.” The event emphasized messages like “Seeking Help Is Not A Sign Of Weakness,” “Reach Out, Speak Up And Seek Help Today,” “Mental Health Matters,” and “Be Gentle To Yourself You Are Doing The Best You Can.”
Through this collaboration, Girls Empowered Uganda reinforced its mission to support adolescent girls in making informed decisions about their health and rights while fostering holistic development. The organization looks forward to future partnerships to promote mental health and livelihood skills among Uganda’s youth. Sirajje Ksen Luyima Kenneth Ntasano Amorim Owenkima

Remembering, Rebuilding, Reigniting Hope: World AIDS Day 2025 – With Girls Empowered Uganda 🌍❤️
Today, December 1st, 2025, marks World AIDS Day, a pivotal moment for us to unite in the fight against HIV, show support for those living with HIV, and remember those we have lost. As we stand here in 2025, the global community continues to advance toward the goal of ending AIDS as a public health threat by 2030.
This moment calls for a renewed focus on "Overcoming disruption, transforming the AIDS response," a theme that reminds us of the resilience required to ensure equitable progress for everyone, everywhere.
The fight against HIV has seen continuous challenges—from funding hurdles to persistent stigma and evolving global crises. But even in the face of these obstacles, the human spirit's capacity for innovation, compassion, and resilience shines through. Organizations like Girls Empowered Uganda (GEU) exemplify this resilience and dedication.
In Uganda, where the need for targeted support is crucial, GEU has been a beacon of hope and a force for transformation. They are on the front lines, ensuring that vulnerable girls and young women have access to crucial information, support, and resources to prevent HIV, reduce stigma, and live healthy lives. By empowering the next generation, GEU directly contributes to strengthening community health systems and transforming the response from the ground up.
Our goal in 2025 is to transform the AIDS response for good. This means building stronger, more equitable, and more resilient health systems, with organizations like GEU at the forefront. It means:
Renewed Investment: Ensuring sustainable funding for HIV prevention, testing, treatment, and care.
Ending Inequalities: Addressing the social and economic disparities that continue to fuel the epidemic, with a special focus on protecting and empowering girls.
Community-Led Solutions: Empowering local communities and trusted organizations like GEU to lead effective and tailored responses.
Let's use today to reignite our collective hope and commitment. The vision of ending AIDS by 2030 is achievable if we learn from disruptions, stand against stigma, and relentlessly pursue a transformed response.
What can you do? Educate yourself and others, challenge stigma, advocate for policies that support people living with HIV, and support organizations like Girls Empowered Uganda who are making a tangible difference.
Together, we transform the future. Together, we can end AIDS.
