We are deeply honored to receive the 2026 Athlete Voice Award from Safe Sport International. This recognition celebrates the work of Balamu Community Outreach Program (BACOP) in advocating for and empowering young people living in vulnerable communities, including Mehta Camps. Through sport, mentorship, education, and community engagement, we strive to amplify youth voices and create opportunities for growth, leadership, and positive change. This award inspires us to continue our mission of using sport as a tool for inclusion, protection, and empowerment. BACOP Safe Sport 2026
As part of its continued commitment to promoting safe sport among young people, BACOP took another important step in empowering youth through sports activities. On 21st May 2026, BACOP used its football platform to promote safe sport awareness among youth living in Mehta Camps.
The activity brought together 70 boys and girls between the ages of 11 and 16, who actively participated in the training sessions and awareness activities. Through football and interactive learning, the participants were educated on the importance of safe sport, teamwork, respect, discipline, and creating a safe environment free from violence, abuse, and discrimination.
All participating youth benefited directly from the event, gaining valuable knowledge and life skills that will help them both on and off the field. The initiative reflects BACOP’s on-going dedication to using sports as a tool for positive social change and youth development.

Football is a powerful tool for protecting children’s rights—especially their right to play and access education. Through sport, children gain confidence, teamwork skills, and opportunities for a brighter future.

Children from the Mahte camps recently took part in the Junior League Tournament (U11 category), where they showcased remarkable talent, determination, and teamwork. Their hard work paid off as they emerged champions, proving that with the right support and opportunities, every child can thrive.

Distribution of Equipment – Second Year Project: Football for a Drug-Free Lifestyle in Schools

During the second year of our project, we distributed essential football equipment to participating schools to promote active engagement and support drug-free lifestyle education. Schools received footballs, cones, bibs, goal nets, and first aid kits based on their needs and student population. The process was documented to ensure transparency and accountability, strengthening school sports programs and encouraging positive, healthy choices among students.
