To protect nature, Our local communities have been put at the center of climate action .
From propagating the trees in the nursey bed , to planting and manging . This has been done with more than 200 Community people with the support of our tourism partner Asilia Africa .
This has not only seen this restoration project transform community livelihoods, but has also helped restore local forest ecosystems and associated biodiversity through training on and the planting of threatened and native tree species that are very important to the wellbeing of the community .

The Batwa are one of Africa’s oldest surviving hunter-gatherer communities, with a history stretching back thousands of years. Before their displacement, the Batwa lived in the dense forests that today form part of conservation areas such as Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga National Park.
This film, Ishamba, shares the story of the Batwa community in Uganda around Bwindi National Park .
35 years ago, they were forced to leave their ancestral forest to protect the last remaining mountain gorillas. The Batwa never hunted them, yet it was believed that people and wildlife could not coexist.. even though they had been for thousands of years.. Today, the gorillas are thriving, but the Batwa remain without a place to call home, and their language and traditions are at risk of fading away forever.
