Mel generously shared her family's story with us because she understands the power of palliative care. It's her hope that all Australians can have access to these vital services.

"To have that support for the end-of-life care is probably just as important as the start," she told us.

'Live the life you please' is a documentary that tells Mel's story and many other inspiring personal stories about the last chapter of life.

The aim is to start conversations about the end of life and to ensure everyone gets to live the life they please - Right until the end.

'Live the life you please' can be seen in theatres nationwide from May 22nd.

Mel was already a mother to two children when she discovered she would be having twins. She'd already experienced palliative care when her son Wil had health complications. It turned out that Wil's care would not be the only reason Mel needed support from palliative care.

Initially, the news of twins was a joyous moment. Mel shared with us that she thought she was being rewarded for all she had endured with Wil.

But after discovering one twin had a hyperplastic left heart, she knew there were more tough times ahead.

Shortly after Elle was born, she was moved into palliative care.
That's where Very Special Kids family practitioner, Anna, came in.

You can hear Mel speak about her journey first-hand at a special Q&A screening of 'Live the life you please' in Southland on Tuesday, 23rd of May, 6pm. Book your tickets today!
