*Subject: Urgent Need: Walking Aids & Wheelchairs for Our Elders at Elderly Hope Uganda*
Dear Friend/Supporter,
I’m reaching out from Elderly Hope Uganda with a request that comes straight from the heart.
Every day at our care home, we see elders who want to walk to the garden, join prayers, or simply move from their bed to the dining room. But many can’t. Some have weak legs from age. Others lost mobility after strokes. Right now we only have 5 wheelchairs and 3 walking sticks for 45 grandparents.
Mama Jenina, 82, hasn’t left her room in 3 weeks because we had to lend her wheelchair to Grandpa Jonni for his hospital visit. He cried when he had to give it back. That broke us.
*What we urgently need:*
1. *Wheelchairs* – 20 more, so no elder has to wait or stay in bed
2. *Walking frames/aids* – 15, for those who can still walk with support
3. *Crutches* – 8 pairs for post-surgery recovery
A simple walking aid means dignity. It means an elder can choose to walk to eat with friends instead of waiting to be fed. It means freedom.
