Bunyonyi YOUNG Orphans and agricuture project

Bunyonyi YOUNG Orphans and agricuture project BUNYONYI YOUNG ORPHANS AND AGRICULTURE PROJECT is a non profit organization, holding values that promotes community based on Agriculture skills,

The education of the world's children is high on the global agenda. In the context of education for all, All children should receive free, good quality for education. The reality is that millions of world's children are too poor to benefit form the declination, unless they are special ,interventions that target their development. Unfortunately, such children do not form a special social category i

n poverty eradication intervention programs. Thus, their inclusion in achievement of (Education for All) EFA appears to be a hit- or- miss phenomenon. Recognizing the central role of poverty eradication in wider global agendas and acknowledging the need to reach out to the poorest children with the objective to break the poverty cycle for them in find embarked on a program of education and poverty eradication. The project aims at reducing the challenges hidden by the fact that orphans and the needy children are not exposed yet by the very nature of their situation, they are included among those that are classified as disadvantaged and poor in Uganda.Children are subsumed with in the poverty categories most often referred to as households, communities,people-which means that there is a high tendency to focus in adult-related poverty while child problems are ignored, partly because children have little power and influence with in a group that contains adults. Research that children in abject poverty can be recognized by rather elementary (as opposed to sophisticated) criteria. Top on the list is absence of basic necessities such as shelter, food, clothing and clean water. Equally important is the "human condition in terms of physical health and parental care and protection.Schooling is high on the list as a critical criterion in determining who is extremely or modestly vulnerable and disadvantaged child. While there seems to be national consensus among donors, the public sector civil society that the government has made commendable progress in implementing PEAP (Poverty Eradication Action Plan) as flexibly as possible, it's evolving nature, due to the participatory and consultative reviews it undergoes regularly, does not address many of the development challenges Disadvantaged children face to day. It would be lobbying and advocacy interventions to ensure that needs and demands of children in abject poverty are met. The UNESCO (2003) Study on children in abject poverty in Uganda revealed that:
health inadequate health services remain critical challenges for children in abject poverty. This is aggravated by the living conditions of children in almost all the districts studied. On a positive note, over three quarters of those who feel sick sought some kind of modern treatment; very few restored to traditional healers. School-related costs have been the major obstacle for children in abject poverty to access education, nutritional food health sounding Bunyonyi Young Football club.(B Y F C)-"ORPHANAGE"

PROJECT PROFILE LOCATION:
Bunyonyi Young Football Club (BYFC) Is anon governmental organization in Uganda as community based organization. The organization is based Bunyonyi community kitumba sub-county Kabale District. GOAL
BYFC has a very strong goal of improving the quality of life of the Needy children and Orphans through providing education, giving care, love and support. BUNYONYI YOUNG ORPHANS AND AGRICULTURE PROJECT simply does not have the capacity to house the children that we help (and in some cases the children do not need to be re-housed). As we do not have a building designated for the purpose of housing the children, they live amongst the community under the care of identified, recognized and registered guardians. They are then supervised and monitored by our staff. We provide mattresses, beds and bedding as these simple items can dramatically improve the living conditions of the young people we support. Improving general nutrition levels
Nearly all of BUNYONYI YOUNG ORPHANS AND AGRICULTURE PROJECT's beneficiaries are living in poverty, which typically manifests in malnutrition. Despite being very preventable, conditions including marasmus, Kwashiokor and stunted growth are prevalent amongst the children. Very few (if any) of the needy children that we help can afford to eat all three meals a day. Therefore we seek to provide additional food to ensure that these children do not suffer malnutrition. The provision of staple foods such as beans, posho, groundnuts, matooke (plantain), potatoes and basic vegetables like carrots, lettuce, cabbages, beetroots,Radish, as you see them in the photo below can easily improve a child’s general wellbeing. In addition to staple foods we provide seeds and hold workshops about efficient agriculture. Educating the community about effective farming methods is essential as in Kabale district where we are based 90% of the people derive their livelihood from agriculture. These livelihoods are currently threatened in rural areas and pre-urban area due to droughts and occasionally hailstorms and flooding. The effect of climate change could lead to a loss of income resulting in casualised employment and children dropping out of education and ending up on the streets. Sponsoring students’ education
We believe that education is the key to success and that education should be a right and not just a privilege. Sadly, in Uganda many children are simply not afforded the chance to get a quality education. Therefore we would have developed a sponsorship programme that aims to provide children with an education but are still looking fro sponsorship for our children
Essentially we are aiming to provide the children and their families with the tools,(like sewing machine which makes african cloth, laptop bags. shopping bags, head bans and so many others) crafts materials like paste- which we use to color the fibres, hooks-that makes scaff;;;; and knowledge to enable them to help themselves. Providing basic health care
Diseases pose a significant threat to vulnerable children all over Africa. HIV/AIDS is one of the predominant causes of children becoming orphaned. Education and family planning can help the prevention and further spread of the disease. Similarly, the provision of mosquito nets can help prevent malaria, one of the biggest killers in sub-Saharan Africa.
