The SCOSP Team eulogizes fallen Robert Monday 38 years old a PWA who succumbed to skin cancer earlier last weekend.
Ladies and gentlemen, family and friends,
Today, we gather to remember and celebrate the life of a remarkable individual, Monday Robert Born: 19th May 1985 and died: 28th October 2023, a man who touched our hearts with his resilience, courage, and unwavering spirit. While we mourn his passing, let us also rejoice in the incredible legacy he leaves behind, a legacy that was made possible through the extraordinary efforts of the SCOSP team.
Monday Robert's life was a testament to the strength of the human spirit. He faced the challenges of living with albinism, a condition that brought unique obstacles and vulnerabilities. Yet, he refused to be defined by his circumstances, and he inspired us all with his determination to live life to the fullest.
The story of Monday's journey with SCOSP is a testament to the power of collective compassion and community support. After his old house was washed away by the rain, the SCOSP team rallied around him, providing him not only with shelter but also a routine welfare package. However, their support extended far beyond the material realm. SCOSP ensured that Monday had access to the crucial medical care he needed to battle the relentless foe that is skin cancer.
Monday's battle was no easy one. He made countless trips from his home in Kisoro to the Cancer Institute of Mulago National Specialized Referral Hospital in Kampala, where he received treatment for his condition. The expenses were overwhelming, but SCOSP stood unwaveringly by his side. They covered the costs of his surgery at Mutorele Hospital and continued to support him as the bills tripled when he was referred to Kisoro Hospital and then Mulago Hospital in Kampala is incredible support is a testament to the dedication and care of the SCOSP team.
Through it all, Monday Robert displayed a level of strength and determination that left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He never gave up, even in the face of such a formidable adversary as skin cancer. His tenacity and will to fight served as a beacon of hope for others, a reminder that courage can overcome the greatest odds.
As we bid farewell to Monday, we cannot help but be deeply moved by the profound impact he had on our lives. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, resilience, and a reminder that, in the darkest of times, the human spirit can shine brilliantly. We may feel the pain of his absence, but we must also carry forward the lessons he imparted to us.
We may not be able to meet or talk to him anymore, but the memory of Monday Robert, the warrior who fought valiantly and emerged victorious, will live on in our hearts. He now rests with the angels, free from pain and suffering. Let us find solace in knowing that Monday's spirit will forever watch over us, guiding us through life's challenges, and reminding us to never give up on the fight for a better tomorrow.
Rest well with the angels, Robert. Till we meet again on the other side of life.
MICHAEL SABIITI, ED SCOSP AND THE SCOSP TEAM.
