Today, Youth Elevation Initiative (YEI) proudly joined the rest of the country in commemorating International Human Rights Defenders Day — an important moment to recognise and celebrate the courageous individuals and organisations working tirelessly to safeguard human rights in our communities.

The national celebration, organised by the National Coalition for Human Rights Defenders Uganda (NCHRDU), took place at HB Hotel in Hoima City under the inspiring theme:
“Celebrating and Protecting the Work of Human Rights Defenders.”

YEI was ably represented by our Executive Director, who joined fellow defenders, partners, and stakeholders in advancing the conversation on strengthening protections, amplifying voices, and building a safer environment for all human rights actors.

As YEI, we remain committed to promoting dignity, equality, and justice for all—ensuring that young people and vulnerable communities continue to be heard, protected, and empowered.

Today, the Youth Elevation Initiative proudly participated in the Kigezi Region Election Stakeholder Dialogue organized by Uganda and supported by the Uganda NGO Forum.
This engagement strengthens our commitment to promoting youth participation, civic awareness, and inclusive democratic processes in our region.
We remain dedicated to empowering young people to engage meaningfully in shaping the future of their communities.

Today, our team, led by our Executive Director Mr. Akampurira Davis, had the honor of attending the official launch of the Kabale University Business Incubation Centre (KABBIC) a milestone initiative funded by UNDP-Uganda.

We proudly showcased our innovations in food value addition, including roasted groundnuts and coffee products, which received great appreciation from Prof. Joy Kwesiga (Vice Chancellor, Kabale University), Ms. Nwenne Vwede Obahor (UNDP Resident Representative), and Hajj Mukwatampola (representing the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education and Sports).

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Kabale University, UNDP, and all development partners for recognizing and involving local innovators and youth-led organizations like us in this transformative journey toward innovation, entrepreneurship, and community empowerment.
