This week, we are thrilled to have supported the indigenous Batwa Communities in the three districts of Rubanda ,Kisoro and Kabale with hands-on skills on how to establish kitchen gardens composed of diverse specie like Onions, Sukuma, Egg plants, Spinach, Tree tomato fruits and other traditional specie with the supreme intention of curbing out malnutrition amongst Batwa Communities under project. Tools like Pick axe, hoes, forked hoes, spade and others were distributed to enable the community in establishing trenches ideas for preventing soil erosion. This is after training and awareness on indigenous knowledge and land restoration where action plans were made and now getting fulfilled.
This is made possible with support from Climate Justice Resilient Fund through PELUM Uganda & Caritas Kabale Diocese respectively.

Two (2) years ago, Kyehunde Women United Caritas Group selected pineapple🍍 enterprise to boost their economic livelihoods. Today, we have started harvesting and expect a weekly inflows from now and onwards in addition to boosting the nutrition of vulnerable group members.

This transformative move is made possible with support from Conrad N. Hilton Foundation through Caritas Uganda.

Two representatives in bee🐝 keeping attended a week long workshop at Kakyeka stadium under the theme "Strengthening Business & Industrial Development for Export Lead Growth" with support from PELUM Uganda, Mbarara City Trades Association ( ). It was attended by other NGOs adding value in agroecology products. Other prominent institutions present included Bank for Africa, Saccos, Uganda National Bureau of Standards, Uganda Registration Services Bureau , United Bank of Africa , Electricity Regulation Authority Uganda, Electoral Commission and other who meticulously explained different products and opportunities available for Small Medium Enterprises ( ) and vulnerable communities.

Today 26/11/2025, Caritas Kabale Diocese has joined other several NGOs in Kisoro District to launch the 16 days of activism on .
The event was organized by UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency , Office of the Prime Minister & Kisoro District Local Government.

The activity began with cleaning Kisoro town and there after a mega launch at the district headquarters.

Amongst other organizations that attended this year's event included Alight , Uganda Peoples Defence Forces, Uganda Prisons, Uganda Red Cross Society, Medical Teams International , Uganda Police and others.

In order to keep relevant in meeting the needs of the most vulnerable smallholder farmers and communities we serve, Caritas Kabale Diocese staff held a one day workshop that guided the term in remaining relevant to her vision, mission, goals, core values and project interventions. This will enhance efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery in Kabale Diocese
During the same event, Caritas Kabale Director introduced and welcome Rev Fr Benedicto Mubangizi as the Assistant Director.
