As part of the One Book Project, HOCDA is currently fundraising 1060 Mathematical sets, 2120 pencils and 2120 pens to support vulnerable children in Jinja during the forthcoming Primary Leaving Examinations.
It is important to note that a number of decades ago, Busoga Region was highly respected for its quality of education. Today, it is the total opposite. The quality of education in the region is steadily deteriorating and is currently ranked among the worst in Uganda. Through the One Book Project, HOCDA is doing something about it. As part of the One Book Project, HOCDA is reaching out to vulnerable learners with the basic items needed to sit for the Primary Leaving Examinations; in this case Mathematical sets, pens and pencils.
So far, we are glad to inform you that we have already obtained 80 Mathematical sets and 50 pens. However, this figure is far short of the desired target. We therefore request you to sacrifice and give back to our vulnerable children in such a time of need. Remember, a single pencil of UGX 200 SHS can change a child’s life- forever!
