Nakapachu Foundation

Nakapachu Foundation The foundation was founded by Miss. Nanteza Resty, popularly known by Nakapachu in 2019+ but formally registered in 2021.

Resty joined NBS radio based in Jinja in 2011 as a presenter on several community-based programs, including Ensi Ne byayo These programs made her appreciate the challenges faced by marginalized people in the communities including sexual and gender-based violence, poor access to health, education, and other social services, land conflicts, and discrimination. She was later forced to try and find so

lutions to those challenges. She initially, during the talk shows, requested her listeners to offer solutions and to provide financial assistance to those in need. The radio listeners were very positive to her endless requests to support the marginalized and it is estimated that at least 10,000 people were supported through those talk show programs. The talk shows brought Resty nearer to the marginalized, became very popular and a household name for the needy. To appreciate her for her tireless effort to serve the people, Resty was elected a Mayor of Njeru Town Council and in 2016 elected Mayor of Njeru Central Division. In 2021, she was robbed of her victory to serve as Woman Member of Parliament for Buikwe district During the period, the number of people visiting her for support was overwhelming for the radio and other well-wishers to support. By January 2021, the number of people visiting her for support had reached over 250 a week. These people Nakapachu decided to find a way of generating income to support her programs, but the income generated was not sufficient to meet the needs of the marginalized. She, therefore, decided to form the Nakapachu Foundation, through which she hoped she would assist the ever-increasing number of marginalized people seeking her support. NAKAPACHU FOUNDATION was accordingly formerly registered in January 2021.
