Child Friendly Organisation Uganda

Child Friendly Organisation Uganda Contribution of Quality of Life of Orphans and Other Vulnerable Children Child Friendly Organisation Uganda (CFOU) was established in 2007.

it is located in Jinja District, Busede Sub county 27km off Jinja Town to the East of Uganda

The inception of the project was conceived by seven persons all working with orphans and other vulnerable children and adolescents in the 12 villages saw the need for an organization and established CFOU. This was due to the traditions which are built on Bantu traditions where children“s welfare is a conc

ern of the family and community. Traditionally great value was attached families taking care of old people, orphans and children whose parents had fallen sick. The AIDS epidemic has changed it completely by death of parents. Grandparents are left behind to take care of orphans and often you see orphans taking care of their grandparents. Many orphans are placed in near family and this burden often results in the orphan being treated differently as regard of clothing, food, love and care, workload. Some children have not only become orphans but some also been infected by HIV and thereby an extra burden for the family.
